MATTRESS BUYING GUIDE

The foundation of good sleep is a comfortable bed and the right mattress. Beds don't last forever. Even if it looks okay, it may not be giving you the support or comfort you need for a good night's sleep.

3 EASY STEPS TO ESTABLISH IF YOU NEED A NEW MATTRESS

STEP 1 - ASK YOURSELF THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS, IF THE ANSWER TO ONE OR MORE QUESTIONS IS YES, IT IS TIME TO START SHOPPING FOR A NEW BED AND MATTRESS.
Have you had your mattress more than seven years? Do you wake up with stiffness and/or aches and pains? Are you sleeping as well as you did a year ago? Have you had a better night’s sleep in a bed other than yours? Does your mattress show signs of visible wear and tear?

STEP 3 – HAVE YOU HAD A CHANGE IN LIFESTYLE? The following changes in your lifestyle and bodies means that you may need a new bed and mattress to reflect the change in your sleeping needs.
Being in a relationship
Losing or gaining a lot of weight
Injury
Your age

STEP 2 – HOW MUCH DO YOU USE YOUR BED. Mattresses' life span is affected by several factors and will depend on your lifestyle, care and amount you use it. Your mattress lifespan will shorten if you use it not just for sleeping at night but also read, watch TV and use your computer. If you are one of those modern people who live online and spend longer than 8h per day in bed, you will need to change your mattress more often. Where if the bed is only used occasionally, such as guest beds, the mattress will last longer than 7 years.

  • Replacing the bed and mattress is an investment in your health so you should buy the best you can afford.

  • A high quality mattress can last up to 10 years.

  • So if every £100 pounds you spend on a mattress represents just 2.7p a night over 10 years it's a small price to pay for a good quality night sleep.

  • We offer wide range or quality beds mattresses to suit every pocket.

LOOKING AFTER YOUR BED & MATTRESS

Like most new products, useful life-span depends on the amount of tender loving care the bed receives thourghout its life

TURNING - Turn your mattress regularly. it is important that you turn your mattress from end to end and side to side every week for the first few months and thereafter about every three months. This will prolong the life-span of your mattress and minimise impression marks. Consider a one-sided 'no-turn' mattress if turning a heavy mattress could be difficult.

AIRING - After delivery the mattress should be aired for 4 hours to freshen and remove any aroma from storage. The mattress should be aired on a weekly basis by turning back the bed linen for a few hours. A mattress protector or an under blanket below the sheet is recommended.

MATTRESS TOPPERS|PROTECTORS - To maximize longevity of your chosen mattress, we recommend you buy a mattress protector or topper. It will provide extra comfort and add extra support creating a cosy sleep oasis.

MEMORY FOAM MATTRESSES - These mattresses do not need but should still be rotated lengthways once a month to prolong its life. Over time these mattress may feel as if it is gradually getting softer, as cells within the foam open more fully and the surface reacts more quickly. Don’t worry, the important pressure relieving properties remain the same and eventually the whole mattress will react evenly.

DON’T PANIC - Your body will take a while to adjust to sleeping on a new surface, so don’t worry if your new bed doesn't immediately meet your expectations. Give it time – it could take a few weeks.
